There's No One Right Way to Give Birth. But There Is Value in Being Prepared.
You can do all the right exercises, take the childbirth classes, and create a thoughtful birth plan—and still have a birth that looks different from what you imagined.
That's because every body is different. Every pregnancy is different. And every birth is different.
Real preparation isn't about following a perfect formula. It's about understanding your body and knowing your options.
Hi, I’m Dr. Kayla
Doctor of Physical Therapy | Pelvic Floor Specialist | Army Veteran | Mom of Three
I've experienced three very different births, and each one changed the way I understand pregnancy, delivery, and recovery.
My first child was born via emergency C-section. Years later, while serving in the Army, I fractured my hip and underwent surgery. I was told I might never be able to run again—or have more children.
But my story didn't end there.
I went on to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and after struggling to conceive, I finally became pregnant with my second child. I was determined to have a different birth experience and successfully delivered vaginally after cesarean (VBAC). But despite getting the birth I had hoped for, the experience was traumatic, and my recovery was incredibly difficult.
I remember wondering which was worse—my emergency C-section or my VBAC.
That experience changed the direction of my career.
I became a pelvic floor physical therapist because I realized how much I didn't know about preparing my body for birth, despite already being a physical therapist.
By the time I welcomed my third and final baby, I had the knowledge and tools to prepare differently. And the difference in both my birth experience and recovery was significant.
Today, I'm the founder of Core Pelvic Health, a pelvic floor physical therapy clinic where my team and I help women prepare for birth, overcome pelvic floor dysfunction, and return to the activities they love.
In addition to my doctorate, I'm a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Certified Nutrition Coach, Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, and trained manual therapist, with extensive continuing education in pelvic health.
But what matters most isn't just my credentials. It's that I've been on both sides—as the mom who felt unprepared and overwhelmed, and as the clinician who now helps women navigate these experiences every day.
I created this course because it's the resource I wish I'd had before my own deliveries.
Not because there's one perfect way to give birth, or because we can control every outcome, but because I believe every woman deserves to understand her body, know how to prepare her pelvic floor, feel confident advocating for herself, and enter birth with more than just hope that everything will go well.
Whether this is your first baby or you're preparing for birth after a difficult experience, I want you to have the knowledge and tools I wish I'd had from the beginning.

This course is not intended to replace an in person assessment if one is needed. This course is meant to be a resource for women who may not need or have access to in person pelvic floor therapy. As a Pelvic Floor therapist myself, I will always recommend seeing one in person if able and if you feel as though it is needed. However this course includes much more information you may not received from standard pelvic floor PTs.
-
This course includes education around epidurals as well! Evidence based information for all birth plans or for when things don’t go as planned, so that you are prepared.
-
This course is also for you! Your body still prepared for a delivery no matter what the outcomes are.
-
This course is essential for first time moms. It provides all the information in a nonjudgmental and calming manner, to help you feel prepared not fearful.
-
For founding students, it will be available by Black Friday. After that the course will be received upon purchasing.
